It has been a long time since I took a walk with my camera at sunset. What a simple joy it is to capture just a little of that pink, purple and gold. Well worth the twenty-two (yes, for real) mosquito bites I got on my legs for being out and about at dusk in a dress.

sunset strolls are the very best!!!
beautiful pictures!
beautiful! looks very peaceful.
what gorgeous photos! Sorry about the bites though.
I love taking walks at sunset. You can get some of the most beautiful colors in the sky.
So pretty!
I have yet to really experiment with sunset shots.
i'm so jealous of your view at sunset. gorgeous pix.
oh - some stunning photos, of some of my most favorite things: watertowers (really? i love them. no. 1 preferred photo subject), sunsets (and at the promenade - beautiful - always) and those waterfalls. love them!
Thanks ladies! Come for a sunset stroll with me anytime!
sounds romantic...
Ash - you can come for a sunset stroll with me anytime too.
These photos are so lovely. I sat on my front porch this morning and watched the sun come up (kind of the reverse of your walk) and also got a few mosquito bites. I'm so ready for them to go away!
beautiful--we just saw the waterfalls this weekend as well--we had an amazing sunset on sunday and you captured it so beautifully!
i always marvel at the mosquitoes here. i thought living in a city meant that was one thing you didn't have to deal with; instead, they're still there, but the water and nature are much harder to find.
you did an admirable job of finding that urban beauty, though. if i wasn't so afraid of west nile virus i'd head over to the promenade right now.
Liz - I wish I could be up for sunrise photos one of these days!
Bonbon Oiseau - I love this view of the waterfall from the Brooklyn Heights promenade, but I still haven't seen the others (except from afar).
Ana - Yikes, you're right! I didn't even think of West Nile! Luckily, so far I seem to be okay (though a bit itchy).
Wow! The colors are gorgeous and what a great contrast with the black of the towers!
My husband and I love sunset walks and if we are really feeling crazy we will get up and sneak out for a sun commin' up walk too...the lighting is just perfect for photos...yours are lovely :o)
~simply~
i find it fascinating that new york is filled with these water towers and i have yet to see one on the west coast. or maybe i'm just not looking hard enough?

"How strange this fear of death is! We are never frightened at a sunset.”
Tartlette - Thanks! Aren't silhouettes the best?
Simply - Wow, another person up at sunrise! I wish I could do it...
Roza - I have not seen them anywhere else either! I think they are only on *old* apartment buildings. (Ours is 125 yrs old.) Not so many of those on the west coast!
so, so beautiful!
Sunset is a most magical time of day.
You captured the colors and anticipation of the moment so beautifully.
Lovely photos, you've inspired me to take some photos at sunset :-)
The pinks, and purples lend skies a fab feel. I'm waiting for the rainy season to go away, for as it goes away it leaves some the most beautiful impressions in the skies.
Mrs. French - Welcome!
Sabrina - Sunset is such a magical time to experience and to photograph.
Angie - Can't wait to see your sunset shots!
Anil - I hope the rainy season doesn't last too much longer. It's true, skies are so beautiful and clear after the rainy season.
I see beautiful beautiful colors - wonderful.
There's a feeling a total serenity wafting off my screen.
Thanks for dropping by my site.

Beautiful photo. I love that time of the day when the sky is pink and purple. Always stops me in my tracks.
Frances - There is something so serene about a sunset, isn't there?
Carrie - Thanks!
Vanessa - I know, it's incredible that the sky turns such vibrant colors.
At Sunset Beach in California... a person turned one of those water tanks into a home... check it out...
